An educational event was held at SSU within the framework of ‘Human Rights Month’.
As it is known, on June 18, 1998, National Leader Heydar Aliyev approved the first ‘State Program on the Protection of Human Rights’ and taking into account that the provision of human rights was defined as one of the main directions of the state policy, the President of the Republic of
Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, in 2007 According to the Decree dated June 18, June 18 was established as Human Rights Day in our country.
Traditionally, as every year, on the eve of this significant day, in order to develop legal thinking and legal culture in the society, to raise the level of public awareness of the achievements in the field of human rights protection, and the tasks ahead, by the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, May 18 - 18 June dates have been declared ‘Human Rights Month’.
In this regard, an educational event on the protection of Human Rights was held at Sumgait State University on June 20.
Speaking at the event, the chief lawyer of the university, Amina Hasanova, spoke about the work done in the direction of human rights protection in our country, and the issues of ensuring the rights of socially vulnerable population groups.
At the end, discussions were held on the topic, and the questions of the participants were answered.
