Information Technologies Centre
Information Technologies Center as one of the structural divisions of the University plays a significant role in life of Sumgayit State University. This is one of main factors in the process of teaching and implementation of research. The center is one of the largest centers in Sumgayit with its modern computer technologies. Various kinds of services in different directions are implemented here. The center includes two sectors: software and system support, technological innovation and technical service.
EC-type computers were installed first at this center among high schools in Azerbaijan in 1980. Important scientific research works and lessons were carried out via it.
The center has joined the high-speed optic internet network for several years and this creates necessary condition to university professor-teaching staff and students to research modern science and technology, world civilization, literature and art, the latest achievements of culture, to use innovations in scientific research. This information exchange allows carrying out global researches.
Professor M.A.Ahmadov, Professor F.H.Alakbarov, doctor of technical sciences F.V.Mustafayev, candidate of chemical sciences Sh.I.Seyidov, R.A.Mammadov, A.J.Babayev, V.V.Hakhverdiyev, docent R.Abdullayeva were head of Information Technologies Center in different years. Right now, F.B.Ismayilov is leading the Center.
Information Technologies Centre is constantly expanding its relations as it develops. The Centre keeps contacts with Minsk Computing Technology Production Association of Republic of Belarus, Voronezh Computing Techniques plant of Russian Federation, Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, Belarusian National Technical University, Tyumen State Oil and Gas University, Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas and leading companies and enterprises of our country.
