The Quality Assurance and Strategy Department of Sumgait State University (SSU) has been organized since December 2023 on the basis of the Department of Quality Assurance in Education and the Center for Strategic Development. The quality assurance and strategy department leads the formulation, review and implementation of policies and procedures with a strategy focused on quality assurance and its development in the university. Along with leading the institutional and program accreditation process, the department organizes the preparation of self-assessment reports, takes necessary measures for the formation and assimilation of the quality culture in the institution. The Department, which monitors and analyzes the current situation to control the implementation of the activities in the Annual Action Plan and Strategic Development Plan, conducts surveys in this direction, based on their results, prepares proposals for taking appropriate steps. From January 19, 2024, the department is headed by Gulnar Hasan gizi Jafarova. Gulnar Jafarova, who completed her education at the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (ASPU) Pedagogical Faculty, majoring in primary school teaching, gained international experience by studying at the Kastamonu State University in Turkiye through the Mevlana Exchange Program. G.Jafarova, who completed her master"s education covering the years 2015-2017 with an honors diploma in Educational Management, is in the last stage of her doctoral studies in Nejmettin Erbakan University, in the field of Educational Management, within the framework of the Turkiye State Scholarship Program. She is the author or co-author of a textbook, more than 10 scientific-research works (articles, thesis, etc.), and is the 2nd among the winners of the competition held among international students in the Republic of Turkiye. She worked as a master"s level subject teacher of the Sabah groups project at ASPU, as a mentor, trainer, academic consultant in various projects of the Education Institute of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and as a leading expert of the Department of Strategic Studies in Education.
