Heydar Aliyev Center has been operating under Sumgayit State University prof. since 02.10.2015 by the order of  prof.E.B. Huseynov №R-25/1.

Currently, the director of the Heydar Aliyev Center is Namazova Tarana Farman gizi. Many personal documents of the Great Leader at the Heydar Aliyev Center, a high school diploma, a diploma of Baku State University in 1957 and awards received during the first and second period of his rule are reflected in the corners of the center. The historical facts reflecting the return of the Great Leader to power in 1993 at the request and insistence of the people, his visits to foreign countries to introduce the independent Azerbaijani state to the world and his steps to protect Azerbaijan's national interests are documented in photos and documents. The meetings and talks of the Great Leader with the leaders of many countries are reflected in a separate corner.

Photographs of his visits to Sumgayit at different times were also placed in the corners of the Heydar Aliyev Center. Along with Heydar Aliyev's intense activity, the university's Heydar Aliyev Center has documents, photos and books about the most delicate moments of his life. Of particular interest are the historical books written about this great personality.

Well-known public and political figures, representatives of science and education visited the center and shared their impressions. In the Book of Remembrance of the Heydar Aliyev Center, kind words and historical sayings were written about the Great Leader. In particular, the Heydar Aliyev Center organized seminars on historical events that took place at different times: the March 1918 genocide, the establishment of the Popular Front, the Day of Revival, the events of January 20, the Khojaly genocide, the establishment of the NAP, Salvation Day, Republic Day, agreement, Teachers' Day, Armed Forces Day, Great Leader's Remembrance Day, etc.
