On June 7, open door day was held in exam session of spring semester of 2017-2018 academic year with the participation of the members of Public Control and Advisory Council, parents, NGOs and representatives of mass media. Organization of exam session of spring semester of 2017-2018 academic year due to current rules, provision of transparency and objectivity in assessment of students’ knowledge, arrangement of exams on the basis of current regulatory documents, establishment of exam headquarters in educational institutions, investigation and measures on any complaint entry to those headquarters and attendance of parents of students and community are reflected in the order №354 dated May 14, 2018 “On organization and conduct of exam session” signed by Ministry of Education Jeyhun Bayramov. An order was signed at SSU corresponding to its execution. According to the order, before the exams certain tasks were identified for faculty deans and department chiefs in order to conduct exams objectively and transparently. A headquarter and hotline have been created for investigation of any problem and solution of it; application and suggestion boxes are hung at the buildings of the university. A chairman of the exam headquarters and hotline service is Professor Shirkhan Salimov. The headquarters is on the second floor of SSU main building in auditorium 241; contact number is 64-4-89-05.
With the aim of operative control over the course of the exam several representatives have been attached: vice-rector for Correspondence, Distance and Extra education, docent Gafar Atayev for Faculty of Chemistry and Biology; vice-rector for Science and Innovations Professor Ramazan Mammadov for faculties of History and Geography, Economics and Management, Engineering and Mathematics. However, rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov personally observes the examination process.
Also, an order was signed for approval of the work plan for 2018 of Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic related to implementation of “National Action Plan for 2016-2018 on promotion of Open Government” and organization, strengthening and provision of sustainability of public councils’ work. Due to the decision, for implementation of the order R-13/1 “Public Supervisory and Advisory Council” has been established. Exam session of spring semester has begun at SSU on June 4. It will last till July 5 in a written form in 7 faculties. 
Then, observers, vice-rector for Teaching Organization and Training Technologies docent Natig Talibov, vice-rector for Correspondence, Distance and Extra education docent Gafar Atayev, vice-rector for Economic Issues Naib Hajiyev, director of Educational and Methodological Center docent Isabal Gurbanov, faculty deans, chairman of Public Supervisory and Advisory Council, co-founder of “Saghlam dushunja” (“Common sense”) youth organization and a member of managerial staff Ramiz Aliyev, a reporter of AZERTAC Atraba Rzayeva, director of “Təhsil-Press.az” information agency Akbar Huseynzade, head of Xeberfakt.az Sakit Muradov, chief editor of Xəbərlə.com news portal Kamal Almuradli, chief editor of Həqiqət.az Ilkin Nurahmadov, chairman of Social union of “Center for Protection of Human Rights and Ecology” Binagadi region branch Ibad Allahverdiyev and a parent Zulfiyya Aghayeva visited the auditoria where exams were conducted. They appreciated the conduct of exams in auditoria with observation cameras. Then, SSU vice-rector for Humanitarian Issues docent Ramiz Huseynov met with observers and talked about work done at the university. He noted that the university is contributing to development of education. The guests expressed their satisfaction for organization of exams in the framework of open door day and thanked to the rector.
