From March 5 to 9 training seminars on “Promoting excellence in teaching and learning in Azerbaijani universities” were held in Vienna University of Applied Sciences in Austria in the framework of ERASMUS+PETRA project. Ministry of Education and 8 universities from Azerbaijan, also 5 universities from Europe participated in the seminars: Sumgayit State University, Azerbaijan University of Languages, Khazar University, Azerbaijan University, Nakhchivan State University, Ganja State University, Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Baku Slavic University, University of Debrecen, Gazi University, University of Valencia, University of Jyvaskyla.
Head of the department of Process automation Professor Javanshir Mammadov, head of the department Finance and accounting docent Loghman Abdullayev, head of International Cooperation Office Samira Mammadova participated in trainings on research skills and abilities.
Rector of Vienna University of Applied Sciences Professor Andreas Breinbauer opened the event, greeted the participants and wished them success in a week of hard work. In the event presentations were delivered on following topics: research and development in Azerbaijan and Austria, participation in Horizon 2020 Program of European Union, doctorate education in Azerbaijan and ERASMUS+NIZAMI project. Discussions were held and proposals were introduced on collecting information and literature during a research, evaluation and master and doctorate dissertations prepared for support of students in academic writing process and involvement of students in Student Scientific Society, improvement of research skills in Azerbaijani universities. The second day of the event was dedicated to international cooperation. Speeches were delivered on organization of international conferences and seminars, signing contracts and memorandums, cooperation with international organizations, etc.
In the end, representatives of SSU and other participants of higher educational institutions were awarded with certificates by Vienna University of Applied Sciences.
