On January 26, reader conference called “Founder of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic” was held in Sumgayit in a branch of the library named after M.A.Rasulzade. The conference was dedicated to the leader of ADR M.A.Rasulzade. President Ilham Aliyev declared 2018 year as a “Year of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic” and the conference was organized by SSU New Azerbaijan Party Youth Union.
The conference focused on history of ADR, its place and role in the history of statehood and public figures’ exceptional activities in its establishment. It was noted that Azerbaijan Democratic Republic founded on May 28, 1918 was the first democratic republic in Muslim East and essential event in our history.
