Nowadays, improvement of ICT is one of important indicators of a country’s intellectual and scientific potential. Rapid development and spread of technologies create great opportunities for mankind. At the present, specialists’ abilities and work with information and communication technologies in educational field is highly appreciated. Significant work has been done for establishment of SSU Technologies Park. The project of technonpark is prepared and territory is allocated for its building. It is planned to set information technologies departments within the technopark. With this aim on November 11, in the laboratory of Information technologies and programming department of Engineering faculty a presentation was held on “Application of modern software systems to the educational process and development of new automated software systems”. 
Rector, vice-rectors, dean, teachers and students attended the presentation. 
Professor Aqil Huseynov, head of information technologies and programming department, doctor of technical sciences gave information about innovations and work done in the department. He noted that several laboratories are provided with new equipment. Also, successful projects have been implemented in the department recently. New equipment has been introduced to the department, monitors have been installed in the laboratory and local network has been set up between computers and monitors. It gives a chance to teachers visually monitor students’ laboratory works. Moreover, application of modern software packages used in laboratory to educational process and methodology of teaching students how to use them were discussed. Attendees watched the presentation of software package for classroom workload distribution prepared by co-workers of the department. 
Shafahat Rahimov, docent of the department gave detailed information about software package. He noted that as the software package is applied class distribution is conducted automatically. It is possible to apply the program to distribution of class workload of all departments functioning in high education system. 
In his speech, Rector Elkhan Huseynov focused on the newly created system’s significance and expressed his satisfaction. He said that regulatory legal base of education has been improved and extensive activities are carried out in high schools, as well as in SSU in terms of material technical support according to President Ilham Aliyev’s orders. Today, use of advanced training-technological complexes, especially use of ICT in educational process is main factors for improvement of quality of education.
