Vice-rector of SSU Has Been to Turkish Universities

Ramazan Mammadov: “Discussions were held on student and experience exchange, application of dual diploma and education”

In Istanbul University of Turkey a meeting was held dedicated to cooperation program among high schools of Azerbaijan and Turkey. At the meeting began on October 30 9 universities from Azerbaijan (SSU, UNEC, ASUCA, AMU, BEU, TU, BSU, ASPU, ASAU) and 4 universities from Turkey (Istanbul University, Sakarya University, Kojaeli University, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University) were represented by rectors and vice-rectors. Vice-rector for Science and innovations Professor Ramazan Mammadov represented SSU at the meeting. All participants delivered speech in the conference held in Blue Saloon in rector’s building of Istanbul University. Discussions were held about situation of relations between high schools of Azerbaijan and Turkey, significance of student and experience exchange, ways of introducing dual diplomas, impediments in development of cooperation in terms of education and other issues. It was also noted that Azerbaijani Universities cooperates with universities of Germany, England, Spain, France, Italy, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, China and other countries. R.Mammadov briefly informed conference attendees about the organization of education and scientific-research works of SSU and its relations with high schools of foreign countries. He noted that SSU entered Bologna education area and has built close cooperation with several European and Asian universities. Several specialties taught at the university have been certified with international certificate by Europe's independent accreditation company (ASIIN). SSU is co-chair of Azerbaijan-Russia Universities Association and a member of State Universities of the Caspian littoral states. Our university closely cooperates with several Turkish universities in the framework of Movlana program and is interested in expansion of the partnership. Masim Hajiyev, Consul General of Azerbaijan Republic in Istanbul, Najiba Nasirova, Adviser on education to our Embassy in Turkey, Nadim Kaya, Member of Board of Education of Turkey Education Foundation and others commented on the raised issues and emphasized the importance of expansion of relations between two brother countries’ universities. After the conference, on October 30 and during the next two days Azerbaijani guests visited several universities in Istanbul, as well as Istanbul University founded in 1453, Istanbul Technical University which began to function in 1773 and Yildiz Technical University; they made a visit to departments and laboratories, got acquainted with material-technical base, management of teaching process, organization of technoparks and other issues. In the end, the guests visited Aya Sofya Museum which was built in 360.
