Mikayil Jabbarov: the nations who belong to different religions, nationalities and ethnic minorities live in peace in Azerbaijan
Significant projects are being realized, events are held in Azerbaijan for respecting universal values, as well as preserving national and spiritual values. On September 28, international congress was held on “Dialogue of languages and cultures in Eurasian educational zone” jointly organized by Azerbaijani Russian Community and Russian Immigration House named after Alexander Soljenitsin in Central Scientific Library of ANAS. Public figures, scientists, rectors, vice-rectors of Azerbaijan, Russia, Moldova, Latvia, Bulgaria, Kirgizstan and Tajikistan participated in 3 day lasting event. Before the congress, 300 books were presented which were the gifts of Russian Immigration House to Central Scientific Library.
Speaking in presentation ceremony, head of Azerbaijani Russian Community, member of Parliament Mikhail Zabel emphasized that, these neighbor and friendly countries have bilateral political, economic, scientific, technical and inter-parliamentary relations. He notified that, this kind of events stimulates development of cooperation between two states.
Afterwards, vice-president of ANAS, head of Literature Institution academician Isa Habibbayli noted the significance of scientific collaboration between two countries. He mentioned that, presented books are precious works and Azerbaijani people are always interested in Russian literature. Russian ambassador in Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokin, secretary of Azerbaijani Writers’ Union Chingiz Abdullayev and others pointed out the care and attention shown to Russian language and culture in our country. 
Head of ANAS, academician Akif Alizade notified that, East and West, Asia and Europe are running close demographic, economic and ideological processes and formulating new civilization. He noted that, Azerbaijan has always been a safe place for other nations through the history and at present the members of various religions and ethnos feel themselves comfortable on the base of mutual respect and humanity.  Emphasizing the special attention shown to integration of science and education in ANAS, Alizade mentioned that, establishment of Master’s degree in Academy is the part of reforms realized in this field.
Rector of Sumgayit State University, co-chairman from Azerbaijan of Association of Russian -Azerbaijani universities Elkhan Huseynov read the letter of Minister of education Mikayil Jabbarov addressed to Congress. Here are the quotes of the letter: “Dear guests, congress attendees, rectors and teachers! I congratulate you on commencement of this international congress on behalf of Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic. It is not coincidence that, such a magnificent event is held in Baku, because Azerbaijan has rich traditions of multiculturalism. According to the order of President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev, 2016 was declared “Year of multiculturalism” in the country. Practice of multiculturalism, tolerance, colorfulness of religions and cultures was always in the center of attention not only in the country, but also in international arena. Nowadays, the nations who belong to different religions, nationalities and ethnic minorities live in peace in Azerbaijan. That is why Azerbaijan is known as an example of togetherness of nations not only in Caucasus, but also all over the world. One of the main factors formulating intercultural dialogue in the country is that, Azerbaijan is located between East and West. It means that, Azerbaijan is as a bridge between two civilizations. Another main factor in preserving multicultural traditions is country’s education. Ministry of Education explores significant steps in enlargement of teaching various languages and these steps contribute to dialogue of nations and cultures. Our pupils have chance to learn and even to study in foreign languages. The subjects on multiculturalism and tolerance are included to teaching programs by Ministry of education.”
Members of parliament Ali Huseynli, Arif Rahimzade and other speakers made speeches in the congress and notified that, Azerbaijan is known as a tolerant and multicultural country in the globe. They wished success to congress’s work.
