On April 11, the first stage of the intellectual knowledge competition dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held at the initiative of the Student Youth Organization of Sumgayit State University (SSU).

The main goal of the event was to organize students" free time more efficiently and meaningfully, reveal their intellectual potential, develop their knowledge and skills, and at the same time commemorate the dear memory of Heydar Aliyev with respect. At the opening ceremony, Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations, Associate Professor Elmar Khalilov greeted the participants and spoke about the exceptional services rendered by the National Leader in strengthening Azerbaijani statehood and protecting our national and spiritual values. He emphasized that such educational competitions held at Sumgayit State University play an important role in expanding the worldview of young people, forming them in the national spirit, and more deeply assimilating the rich heritage of the Great Leader. He wished the participants success and expressed his belief that the tournament would be held at a high level. Then the tournament was officially launched and an interesting battle of wits began. In the first stage of the tournament, which consisted of 3 stages in total, 12 teams tested their knowledge, demonstrating agile thinking and team spirit. It should be noted that the next stages of the tournament will be held on April 25 and May 9.
