Sumgayit State University signed a memorandum of cooperation with Almaty University of Technology
Within the framework of the II Rectors' Forum of Higher Education Institutions of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan and the “Study in Azerbaijan” international education exhibition held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, Sumgayit State University signed a memorandum of cooperation with Almaty Technological University, expanding the geography of international cooperation. The memorandum was signed by the vice-rector of Sumgayit State University, corresponding member of ANAS, Aminaga Sadigov, and the rector of Almaty Technological University Kuzalkhanov Talgat Kuralbekovich. Almaty Technological University, considered one of the leading technical higher education institutions in Central Asia, is distinguished by its programs based on modern technologies and digital educational methods. The university, which has more than 7 thousand students, also has more than 300 foreign students. The university has the status of “High Research Output” and is distinguished by its high scientific activity indicators. At the same time, the university, which is ranked between 1001–1200 in the QS World University Rankings 2026, is recognized as one of the TOP 10 higher education institutions in Kazakhstan.
The signed memorandum envisages strengthening cooperation between the parties in expanding scientific and research activities, implementing joint projects in the field of innovative technologies, promoting the exchange of academic knowledge and experience, as well as the application of modern educational approaches.
