On December 29, Sumgayit State University (SSU) organized an event on the occasion of December 31 - Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis and the New Year.
A video clip dedicated to the Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis was shown at the event. SSU Acting Rector, Corresponding Member of ANAS Aminaga Sadigov opened the event and congratulated the participants on the significant days. In his speech, he emphasized that the Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis expresses the idea of national unity, that this idea occupies a special place in the political heritage of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and plays an important role in the formation of the traditions of solidarity of the Azerbaijani people. He noted that this holiday serves to strengthen the sense of national belonging and unite Azerbaijanis around a common goal. Aminaga Sadigov said that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the idea of national solidarity is successfully continued today and constitutes one of the main directions of our country"s sustainable development strategy. He noted that the unity and solidarity of our people are the main support for the development of independent Azerbaijan, and the historical Victory gained in the Patriotic War is recorded in history as the most vivid example of the unity of the people-state-army.
In his speech, Aminaga Sadigov drew attention to the fact that the current year was also successful for Sumgayit State University, emphasizing that the university strengthened its position in international rankings and achieved significant achievements in the field of education and scientific activity. He noted that the concept of solidarity is of particular importance for the university staff, and that joint activities and unity around a single goal are the basis of the achieved successes.
A. Sadigov also noted that the autumn semester exam session has begun, recommended the teaching and professorial staff to strictly adhere to the principles of transparency and objectivity in the evaluation process, and wished success to the students. At the end of his speech, he congratulated the participants on the occasion of the holidays once again, wishing everyone good health, success and our national solidarity to always be strong.
The head of the “Qartal” company, Shahin Mammadov also spoke at the event and congratulated the staff of Sumgayit State University on the occasion of the holiday, highly appreciated the activities of the university and wished the staff success in their future work. He addressed the students and advised them to use their student years effectively and to acquire knowledge in depth.
Then, a video congratulatory message from SSU students to Karabakh University was shown. Also, in response, a video clip reflecting the musical contribution prepared by the Karabakh University staff was presented.
The event continued with patriotic poems and songs performed by the students, and a performance by the “Sema” dance group. The performances of the teacher of the Sumgayit Music College under the Azerbaijan National Conservatory, Elchin Rashid oglu, and the “Nur” vocal group of the Said Rustamov Children"s Art School No. 3 added a special color to the event.
