SSU and Umid Babek Operating Company discuss creation of modern Mechatronics and Robotics Laboratory

On December 26, an online meeting was held between Sumgayit State University (SSU) and Umid Babek Operating Company (UBOC). The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the possibilities of creating a Mechatronics and Robotics Laboratory that meets modern standards at SSU. It was noted that the laboratory in question will be established with the financial support of UBOC.
During the meeting, acting rector of Sumgayit State University, corresponding member of ANAS Aminaga Sadigov provided detailed information about the university's activities, scientific and educational potential and development priorities. He emphasized that university-industry cooperation plays an important role in improving the quality of higher education, and noted that the creation of such modern laboratories is of particular importance in terms of personnel training based on practical knowledge. He noted that industry-oriented infrastructure allows students to acquire skills appropriate to a real production environment.
Aminaga Sadigov also noted that the positive results achieved by SSU in international rankings this year, as well as the 29 percent increase in the number of students admitted to the university, are an indicator of SSU's growing prestige.
At the meeting, Director of Umid Babek Operating Company, Elkhan Bashirov spoke and provided information about the company's activities. He said that the Umid-Babek offshore block is one of the second largest energy fields of strategic importance in the country and its development and exploitation is carried out by UBOC. Elkhan Bashirov emphasized that the financing of the planned laboratory will make a significant contribution to the training of qualified engineering and technical personnel in the long term.
The meeting continued in an atmosphere of mutual exchange of views, and preliminary agreements were reached on the technical directions of the laboratory and the prospects for future cooperation.
