On December 11, the AzEdu.az Education Portal and Sumgayit State University (SSU) jointly organized the "Brand Students" ceremony at SSU. The event was attended by AzEdu.az Education Portal Director Laman Novruzova, correspondent Esmira Aliyeva, the university's structural staff and students awarded the "Brand Student" status. SSU Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations, associate professor Elmar Khalilov spoke at the award ceremony, emphasized the importance of the project jointly implemented by higher education institutions with AzEdu.az Education Portal. He noted that young people with the "Brand Student" status are distinguished by their leadership skills, activism and initiative. In this direction, the leadership example of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev is an example for all young people, and these values still play an important role in the formation of Azerbaijani youth today. Elmar Khalilov also emphasized that our heroic youth who won the 44-day Patriotic War also demonstrated a true example of leadership. In this regard, the “Brand Student” project is an important initiative that contributes to the intellectual, social and spiritual development of young people. Director of the Educational Methodological Center, Doctor of Philosophy in Economics Elnara Mammadova said that this initiative is a source of pride. She emphasized that a student should not be satisfied only with achieving results in the field of science and education, but should also demonstrate an active position in the social life of the university. Obtaining high academic performance is the first stage in order to be awarded the title of “Brand Student”. The director confidently stated that the selected students will proudly and responsibly represent the name of the university in their future activities and will be distinguished by their successes. Then, Director of the AzEdu.az Education Portal Laman Novruzova congratulated the young people who were awarded the title of “Brand Student” and emphasized that being selected from among thousands of students is both a great sense of pride and a serious responsibility. She noted that AzEdu.az has been successfully implementing this project for three years now. While 20 universities participated in the first stages of the project, this year that number has increased to 29 higher education institutions. She added that the main goal of the portal in the future is to bring all universities of the country together around this initiative and further expand the scale of the project. Then, certificates were presented to the “Brand Students”. Finally, a special representative was identified from the “Brand Students” to represent the university.
