The next session of “Heydar Aliyev School” was held at Sumgayit City Organization of New Azerbaijan Party (NAP). A member of the NAP Board of Directors, Chairman of the NAP Sumgayit City Organization, Ramiz Huseynov and students working in different spheres, as well as those studying, have participated at the event. The event started with the playing of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan and a minute of silence in memories of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, as well as the Martyrs who sacrificed their lives heroically for the territorial integrity of our country. This time the guest of the session was Acting Rector of Sumgayit State University, corresponding member of ANAS, professor Aminaga Sadigov. He gave an extensive speech on “The Contributions of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev to Azerbaijani Science”. He noted that Heydar Aliyev always appreciated science and education as integral part of the state strategy: The rapid development of Academy of Sciences has been ensured, material and technical base of scientific-research institutions has been strengthened, priority directions of fundamental and applied sciences have been formed, a great attention has been paid to the preparing of the scientific personnel. He noted that Heydar Aliyev valued the Azerbaijani science as one of the main pillars of national development. Today, President Ilham Aliyev’s science policy is the consistent continuation of that strategic line and it brings new dynamics to the scientific potential of our country. The Professor addressed to the students and emphasized that the modern research environment and innovation ecosystem are developing on the strong scientific-strategical foundations laid by Heydar Aliyev. The youth interest in scientific research, and coming up with innovative ideas is a great contribution to strengthening of Azerbaijan intellectual capital. A chairman of the NAP Sumgayit City Organization stated in his speech that “Heydar Aliyev School” is of great importance in terms of transmitting the Great Leader’s statehood ideas, national identity and patriotism values to the young generation: “This school is not only a center of historical knowledge, but also an ideological center for the modern statehood thinking promotion. Turning the young into active participants in state-building processes is one of the main goals of the strategical development line set by the Great Leader.” After the speeches, an interactive discussion was held with the youth. They were provided information about the development prospects of Azerbaijani science, innovations opportunities, the role of science in the society’s progress, and application of Heydar Aliyev heritage in the modern era.
The event finished with the playing of the Anthem of the New Azerbaijan Party.
