On November 5, the next meeting of the Scientific Council of Sumgayit State University (SSU) was held. Acting Rector of the university, corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Aminaga Sadigov chaired the meeting. He greeted the members of the Council and noted that President Ilham Aliyev's speech at the event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences set great tasks for scientists. Aminaga Sadigov drew attention in the speech of the head of state, to the special importance of the high attention and care shown to the Azerbaijani language, its literary norms and rules. Aminaga Sadigov said in his speech that every citizen, especially those working in the fields of science and education, should pay special attention to preserving the purity of our language guided by these profound thoughts of the President. Then, scientific secretary of the university, Professor Mukhtar Samedov brought to the attention of the participants the issues on the Council's agenda. Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations, Associate Professor Elshad Abdullayev spoke about the forecast plan for student enrollment at SSU in the 2026/2027 academic year. He stated that in preparing the forecast plan for the coming years, it is important to conduct a more in-depth analysis of labor market demand and to draw up a justified and purposeful forecast plan in accordance with the results of the research conducted. For this purpose, relevant instructions have been given to department heads and faculty deans. It was recommended that surveys be sent to industrial enterprises operating in Sumgayit city and surrounding regions in the coming years, that these enterprises' needs for specialists be studied, and that the information obtained be taken into account in preparing a forecast plan. The implementation of coordination activities in this direction has been entrusted to the deans of the faculties and the director of the Educational and Methodological Center, associate professor Elnara Mammadova. Later, Vice-Rector for Social Issues and Public Relations, Associate Professor Elmar Khalilov reported on the discussion of the "Social Policy Concept" of Sumgayit State University. After the discussions, the "Social Policy Concept" of Sumgayit State University was approved. A specialist in the Quality Assurance and Strategy Department, Shams Shirinova spoke about the implementation of the work envisaged in the Action Plan for the 2024/2025 academic year in accordance with the Strategic Development Plan of SSU. Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations, Associate Professor Elshad Abdullayev reported on the approval of the Action Plan for the 2025/2026 academic year in accordance with the Strategic Development Plan of SSU. The Action Plan for the 2025/2026 academic year has been approved in accordance with the Strategic Development Plan of SSU. Later, the topics and scientific supervisors of the doctoral students' dissertations were approved, and decisions were made to grant publishing rights (license) to teaching materials.
