Every year, between October 20 and November 20, "Children's Rights Month" is celebrated in our country. On this occasion, an educational event was organized at Sumgayit State University (SSU). Chairman of the Trade Union Committee, Associate Professor Nemat Ibayev opened the event, noted that every person should know their rights and be able to protect them. Educational activities carried out in this direction are of great importance. He spoke about the work being done to protect children's rights in our country. He noted that protecting children's rights is one of the main directions of Azerbaijan's state policy. The care and attention provided to children, and the measures taken to ensure their education, health, and social well-being, are an integral part of this policy. Then, lawyer of SSU Ehtiram Gurbanov spoke and informed the participants about the essence of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, as well as the national legislative acts and state programs adopted to protect children's rights. He also spoke about the rights and responsibilities of children, highlighting the importance of them growing up in a healthy and safe environment. He noted that a great responsibility lies with society and the family in this process. In this regard, it is the moral duty of every citizen to respect the rights of children, ensure their worthy future, and surround them with care.
At the end of the event, an exchange of views on the topic was held, and the participants' questions were answered.
