Our students are training on the topic of renewable energy
On April 24, a training on the topic "Using renewable energy sources: realities and challenges" was held at the initiative of the Department of Energy of the Faculty of Engineering of Sumgayit State University (SSU) and organized by the Career and Alumni Center. Dean of the Faculty of Engineering of SSU, Associate Professor Ulduz Aghayev opened the event spoke about the relevance of the topic of the current training. Dean of the Faculty noted that the demand for personnel training in alternative and renewable energy sources has increased in modern times and has set new tasks for higher education institutions, and steps have been taken in the direction of developing new educational programs at the faculty. Head of the Department of Energy, Associate Professor Khayala Aliguliyeva emphasized that the training was organized within the framework of preparations for an international conference on the topic to be held at the university. Acting Director of the Career and Alumni Center Ruhangiz Amirova expressed her confidence that the work carried out in this direction at the university will play a role in the future careers of graduates. One of the experts on renewable energy sources in Azerbaijan, the author and head of the "SolarAgroWater" project, Kenan Arifli reminded that this topic is one of the priority directions for our country. He spoke about the strategic role of state policy in the field of renewable energy in ensuring the country's energy security. Noting that specific projects are being implemented in our country in this direction, the trainer provided extensive information about a wind power plant with an installed capacity of 240 MW, a 230 MW solar power plant, a 240 MW solar power plant in the Zangilan-Jabrail zone, and a "green energy" zone in the liberated territories.
