On July 4, the next meeting of the Scientific Council of Sumgayit State University (SSU) was held. The meeting was opened by the chairman of the council, acting rector of the university, corresponding member of ANAS, professor Aminagha Sadigov who greeted the members of the council. He noted that Sumgayit State University achieved great successes and achievements in the past academic year. He noted that Sumgayit State University was included in the list of “QS 2026 Ranking of the Best Universities in the World” for the first time. This achievement is a vivid example of the international recognition of our university and its successful integration into the global academic environment. Aminagha Sadigov also provided information on the upcoming issues. Then, he congratulated the employees who had recently received scientific degrees and scientific titles and wished them success in their scientific and pedagogical activities.Then, the Scientific Secretary, Professor Mukhtar Samedov, brought to attention the issues on the agenda.  The agenda was approved. Regarding the rules for admission to the second higher education, the Director of the Teaching Methodological Center, Associate Professor Osman Hajiyev, made a speech. He noted that the admission of documents for repeated higher education at SSU is carried out electronically, through the portal https://portal.edu.az/. He also brought to the attention of the participants the list of additional education specialties in the Azerbaijani section. In addition, information was provided on the Rules for the teaching staff"s teaching time norm for the 2025/2026 academic year and the rules were approved. Then, Associate Professor Osman Hajiyev provided detailed information on the replacement of some subjects of students involved in the "Code Academy" project in the spring semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The Head of the Department of Master"s Degree, Doctoral Studies and Science, Associate Professor Samir Orujov reported on the results of the master"s degree students" scientific research, scientific and pedagogical experiences and attestations. The scientific research and scientific and pedagogical experiences of the master"s degree students, as well as the results of their attestations, were assessed as satisfactory. Speaking at the discussion of current issues, the Scientific Secretary, Professor Mukhtar Samedov noted that students admitted to SDU with 500 or higher points in the 2025/2026 academic year will be provided with an additional scholarship (200 AZN) by the university and will be provided with a free place in the Student House. Then, the fee for participation in the exam for students who have academic debts and want to take the exam without retaking the subject was determined in accordance with the rules. During the discussions, relevant decisions were made to implement the training of specialists in the Computer Modeling specialization, the implementation of the proposed new specialization based on the letter received from the Sumgayit Innovation Center. The specialties and tuition fees for the admission of foreign students to SSU in the 2025/2026 academic year were determined. The exchange of views was held on the provision of free accommodation in the Student House to foreign students admitted within the framework of the “Sumgayit State University Bright Future” scholarship program, as well as on partial changes in the composition and names of some structural units, and other relevant issues. Relevant decisions were made on the issues discussed and instructions were given to the heads of the structures. Then, the topic of the dissertation work and scientific supervisors of a group of employees were approved. The Scientific Secretary also provided information about the granting of the right to publish teaching materials and said that the Scientific Council received 14 teaching materials, 10 of which are textbooks and 4 are subject programs. After the discussions, permission was given to publish teaching and methodological materials. Thus, the Scientific Council successfully completed its work.
