The Novruz holiday was celebrated with a symbol of the rich national-spiritual values, abundance, fertility and kindness of our people, special solemnity in Sumgayit. A grand festive event was organized on Sumgayit Boulevard to share the joy of the arrival of spring. The event was attended by the Head of the Sumgayit City Executive Power, Mr. Zakir Farajov, MPs, city officials, public representatives, acting rector of Sumgayit State University, Professor Aminaga Sadigov, and the university staff.

The Head of the City Executive Power, Zakir Farajov sincerely congratulated the city residents on the occasion of the holiday and lit the Novruz bonfire. He wished that spring would bring peace, prosperity, happiness and well-being to our country, and spoke about the important role that Novruz played in the ancient history of our people. It was noted that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, realizing the ideals of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, turned the greatest dream of our people into reality. Under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the brave Azerbaijani Army liberated our lands from occupation, and now we are celebrating the Novruz holiday in those sacred lands. At the holiday event, Dede Gorgud and Bahar gizi gave their blessings and wished that Novruz would bring prosperity, prosperity and success to our people. The cheerful dances of children in national costumes, the cheerful jokes of Kosa and Kechal, as well as ancient folk games were met with great interest by the event participants. The head of the executive branch and the participants watched the scenes reflecting our national and spiritual values, numerous holiday tents, festivities and the most beautiful examples of national costumes, cuisine, folk creativity and craftsmanship. It should be noted that Sumgayit State University was represented in a large number, and its stands reflecting the Novruz holiday aroused wide interest.
