On February 13, the “One book – one play” project took place at Sumqayit State Drama Theatre in honor of International book giving day. The main goal of the project was to establish a library within the theater and to encourage society’s interest in reading books. As part of the event, audience members who donated a book to the theater received an invitation to the play Ocaq, written by Turgut Özakman and directed by People’s Artist Firudin Maharramov. The great interest shown in the project was a clear testament to the contribution of cultural and educational integration. The Sumqayit State University team also supported this noble initiative by participating in the event. University staff and students contributed to both the art of theater and the library initiative by joining the project. As SSU, we wish for such educational and cultural initiatives to continue and encourage everyone to support books and the arts.
