The position of rector of Sumqayit State University has been entrusted to Eminagha Sadiqov, Deputy Director of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education. This appointment was formalized through a corresponding order signed by the Minister of Science and Education, Emin Amrullayev. Eminagha Sadiqov pursued his studies at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics of Dnepropetrovsk State University (now Dnipro National University) from 1980 to 1985. In 1992, he obtained the academic degree of Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (equivalent to a Ph.D. in Mathematics) from the same university. He was awarded the title of Doctor of Technical Sciences in 2013, the academic title of Associate Professor in 2010, and the title of Professor in 2016. In 2017, he was elected a Corresponding Member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences in the field of Computer Science. From 2021 to 2023, he served as Executive Director of the Institute of Control Systems under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Since 2024, he has held the position of Deputy Director of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education.
