On February 11, within the framework of the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty”, sports competitions in 3 sports (chess, checkers and table tennis) were launched with the joint participation of employees of Sumgayit State University (SSU) and Sumgayit State Technical College. The competition was organized by the university’s Sports Club and Trade Union Committee at the Library Information Center. Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations of the university, Associate Professor Elmar Khalilov opened the competition. He wished success to each person in the teams. The employees participating in the competition demonstrated their skills and started a fun and intelligent competition. The competition was first held in chess, and the 1st place in the competition was awarded to employees of the Mathematics Faculty, the 2nd place to Philology, and the 3rd place to History and Geography Faculty. The winners were awarded with Honorary Certificates. It should be noted that the competitions will continue on February 12-13 in checkers and table tennis, respectively.
