The event was organized by the Trade Union Committee of SSU. Opening the event, which was attended by the academic and administrative staff of the university, Rector Rufat Azizov spoke about the role of youth in society, their importance in the development of the country and their achievements in education. Continuing his speech, the Rector said that youth is the most dynamic and promising force shaping the future of every country. Youth Day was first celebrated in 1997 by the decree of the national leader Heydar Aliyev. This was an example of the attention and care that Heydar Aliyev showed to youth. The youth policy, which was initiated by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, offers new opportunities and prospects to the young generation even today. The Azerbaijani state attaches special importance to education and continuously allocates serious investments for the development of this field. Rufat Azizov also noted that our university has taken a number of steps to reveal the potential of young people and train them as leading specialists of the country in the future. Here, various programs, projects and trainings have been organized to not only provide high-quality education to students, but also to develop their creative and analytical thinking skills. Finally, the rector presented gifts to young employees of Sumgayit State University on the occasion of Youth Day.
