On December 20, a scientific and artistic seminar entitled ‘Şəbi-Hicran yanar canım...’ dedicated to the 530th anniversary of Muhammad Fuzuli, organized by the Faculty of Philology was held at Sumgayit State University. Speaking at the opening speech, Hasrat Suleymanov provided general information about the work of the powerful artist of the 16th century, Muhammad Fuzuli. A video clip about Muhammad Fuzuli was shown after the speeches of associate professor Arzu Huseynova and senior lecturer Afet Refiyeva. Then Muhammad Fuzuli's ghazals ‘Məni candan usandırdı’, ‘Tərki-dünyalıq nədir?’, ‘Pənbeyi-daği-cünun...’ and poem ‘Anasının Leyliyə nəsihəti’ were performed. In the end, associate professor Boyukkhanim Eminli made a speech and once again emphasized the special position of M.Fuzuli in the history of Azerbaijani literature. She said that Fuzuli is the pride of Azerbaijani literature and the students' interest in his work is remarkable. She thanked the organizers and participants of the event.
