‘I Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum of Regional Universities’ was held at the Ganja Heydar Aliyev Center, organized by the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University (ASAU). First, the event participants laid flowers in front of the monument of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. Then, the startups prepared by the students were demonstrated to the guests in the lobby of the Center. The event began with the playing of the National Anthem and a minute of silence was observed in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the integrity of our lands. Speaking at the forum, ASAU Rector Zafar Gurbanov said that the main goal of the forum is to develop startups and innovative entrepreneurship potential in the region. The Rector said that in our modern era, universities have a great responsibility to teach students entrepreneurial skills, support their innovative ideas, and integrate them into the business environment. Other speakers were Adil Tagiyev, Deputy Head of the Ganja City Executive Power, Rufat Azizov, Rector of Sumgayit State University, Uzeyir Zeynalov, Acting Rector of Mingachevir State University, Sunniya Durrani-Jamal, Country Director of the Asian Development Bank in Azerbaijan, Anar Jafarov, Director of the Agrarian Innovation Center, Ragif Gasimov, Director of the Zagatala Branch of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics, wishing success to the work of the forum and speaking about the importance of holding such events. Also, the event was attended by Yusif Yusibov, Rector of Ganja State University, Vugar Pashayev, Head of the Ganja branch of Kapital Bank, Amil Gurbanov, Director of the Ganja Youth House and other officials. Later, two panel discussions were organized on the topics ‘The role of universities in the innovation ecosystem’ and ‘The role of innovations in modern entrepreneurship’. Finally, the guests got acquainted with the material and technical base of the Agrarian University, including modern laboratories, student park, student houses, machinery and tractor park, outdoor and indoor fish farming laboratories, vivarium and greenhouse complexes.
