On December 9, a training on the topic of "Fundamentals of Scientific Activity in a Research-Oriented University in the USA" was held at Sumgayit State University by Aytakin Huseynli, Research Assistant Professor at the Brown School of the University of Washington in St. Louis, member of the editorial board of the journals "International Social Work" and "International Journal of School Social Work". Opening the training, SSU’s Vice-Rector for International Relations, Konul Abasli, informed the participants about the expertise of speaker Aytakin Huseynli and emphasized the importance of the training. Aytakin Huseynli, then presented the structure, basic principles and development trends of scientific activity in research-oriented universities in the USA and provided information on how to organize research, types of publications, preparation of scientific projects, and other relevant topics. The training also discussed the difficulties faced by researchers in the USA, effective management of scientific activity and achieving academic success. At the end of the training, participants’ questions were answered.
