As part of COP29, Sumgayit State University and Saïd Business School, University of Oxford organized a panel discussion titled “Youth Leadership in Climate Action: Inspiring Change through Education and Innovation.” The panel explored the roles of youth and universities in driving climate action, national and international climate education strategies, and the integration of climate change management into education and research. Topics such as leadership, gender and climate action, and addressing the health impacts of climate change were also discussed in depth. Speakers included Alice Ho, Director of Youth Engagement at the Global Alliance of Universities on Climate; Prof. Ananya Mukherjee, Vice-Chancellor of Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR; Juliane Reinecke, Professor of Management Studies at Saïd Business School; Dr. Mary Johnstone-Louis, Senior Fellow in Management Practice, Saïd Business School; Dr. Mohammad Fityan, Chief Medical Officer of Burjeel Holdings; and SSU Rector Rufat Azizov. The panel concluded with a Q&A session addressing participants’ questions.
