On October 19, the founding meeting of the Alumni Association was held with the participation of graduates who graduated from Sumgayit State University in different years. At the opening of the event, the dear memory of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was commemorated, followed by the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Later, the rector of the university, associate professor Rufat Azizov made a speech and congratulated the graduates on the occasion, appreciating the initiative of the graduates to establish the Alumni Association. He informed about the projects carried out in the university, the work carried out in terms of content and quality indicators, as well as the upcoming goals. Then he spoke about the importance of creating the Alumni Association. He noted that the Association can play a supporting role in terms of networking of graduates, establishment of professional connections, sharing of sector information and experiences. At the end of his speech, the rector emphasized that the graduates of SSU make their contribution in the social and political life of Azerbaijan. Then the speech was given to Indira Shamsivari, an honorary graduate of SSU, presidential awardee, junior state adviser, head of the Finance Department for Khizi region and expert of the Milli Majlis, and Khalid Asadov, head of the Sumgayit City Finance Department, junior adviser of the Civil Service. In their speeches, the graduates expressed their appreciation for the initiative of creating an Graduate Association in their home university and expressed their readiness to contribute to the activities of the Association. At the event, Nasiba Amirbeyova, director of the Career and graduate employment center, made a presentation about the creation, goals and activities of the Alumni Association. She gave detailed information to the participants of the meeting about the activities carried out by the Center during 1 year regarding the graduates. After the speeches, the promotional video of Sumgayit State University was shown. Specialist of Career and Graduate employment center Ulkar Valizadeh informed about the selection of the members of the Management Board and the Supervisory Inspection Commission of the Association, the announcement of the approval of the Regulations of the Alumni Association, and the application of the Alumni Association to the university administration. Later, the members of the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association and the members of the Control Inspection Commission were elected by secret ballot. The event continued with the artistic part. Chairman of the Accounting Commission Mukhtar Samadov announced the results of the voting for the election of the members of the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association and the members of the Control Inspection Commission. He congratulated the graduates and wished success in their activities. At the end of the event, the graduates gathered for a tea break and held discussions.
