In accordance with the work plan for 2024 of the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a "Choose to Love" seminar on drug addiction and its consequences was organized on October 15 with the joint cooperation of the Institute of Education and Sumgait State University. Within the framework of the seminar, Bahar Beylarova-Alekbarova, Ph.D. in psychology, an employee of the Institute of Education, brought to the attention of the students the multifaceted process of the fight against drug addiction, the illegal use, distribution and trafficking of narcotics. Choose to love, discover yourself, get to know yourself during the speech - what happens in our brain?; Psychological and physiological characteristics of adolescence; The role of our upbringing method in our lives?; Parent-adolescent interaction in adolescent upbringing: Emotional rejection; Emotional neglect; Authoritarian control; Unconditional intervention; Types of parental behavior: Hypo protection, Dominant hyper protection, Conditional hyper protection; Moral rejection, increasing moral responsibility; What is addiction? What are the psychological aspects of addiction and the causes of addiction? Book recommendations for personal development and the harms and consequences of drug addiction, the possibility of getting rid of this problem with the help of will and determination were discussed. The students" questions were answered and the seminar continued in the form of a discussion. In order to monitor and evaluate the educational event, Head of the Department of the Institute of Education Tavat Muradli and senior researcher Ilhama Asadova also participated in the seminar.
