International Teachers" Day was celebrated at Sumgait State University on October 4. Opening the event, Rector of the university Associate Professor Rufat Azizov congratulated the teachers who dedicated their lives to the bright future of the nation and the students studying for the teaching profession on the occasion of the professional holiday, talked about the work done in the direction of education development and the successes achieved. He said that the measures taken in recent years regarding the development of education in our country indicate that the development of science and education is the basis of state policy. Of course, the quality of education depends on the level of the teacher. The training of teaching personnel according to the requirements of the labor market and their improvement has always been in focus. Speaking about the strategic goals of SSU, which has chosen the path of internationalization and branding, the rector highlighted the role of teachers in training high-quality personnel in accordance with the requirements of the new era, spoke about the purposeful work carried out in this direction, and congratulated all the teachers working for the success of Azerbaijani education in the example of the faculty of Sumgait State University, wished success in honorable, but at the same time responsible professional activities.
At the event, Professor Adil Bakhshaliyev, Dean of the Faculty of History and Geography, Associate Professor Elmar Khalilov, Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations spoke about the prestige of the teaching profession and the high value the Great Leader gave to the teaching profession, and congratulated the staff and every Azerbaijani teacher on behalf of the staff. Then, for their active participation in the public life of the university and their effective scientific and pedagogical activities, a group of employees and teaching staff were awarded with a valuable gift and an honorary decree by the university administration.
