Mevlana Exchange Program
Mevlana Exchange Program is a program which aims the exchange of students and academic staff between the Turkish higher education institutions and higher education institutions of other countries. In 23 august, 2011 this work was started. Students and academic staff from partner universities can benefit mutually from this program. Students who want to participate in this program may study abroad for one (minimum) or two (maximum) semesters and academic staff may benefit from program by to  lecture  in higher education institutions in Turkey from one week (minimum) to three months (maximum). 
Mevlana Exchange Program - was named in honor of  famous Persian speaking poet, a prominent representative of the pantheism philosophy  Movlana Celalledin  Rumi.
Who can participate in Mevlana exchange program? 
The students registered in formal education programs in Associate Degree, B.A, M.A and PhD level at higher education institutions in Turkey (on condition that the higher education institutions signed a bilateral Mevlana Exchange Protocol)and  all academic staff who work in a national or foreign higher education institution, on condition that the higher education institutions signed a bilateral Mevlana Exchange Protocol, may benefit from Mevlana Exchange Program. In the scope of mobility, academic activities of academic staff can not be less than total six hours weekly. If course hours do not complete six hours, academic activities like seminars, panels or conferences are evaluated in this context. Academic staff mobility plans which do not contain lectures shall not be considered within Mevlana Exchange Program and accepted for the Exchange. 
Requirements  for participating in Mevlana exchange program.
•The student shall be a student of associate degree, undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral student registered at formal higher education programs,
•The general academic grade point average of associate degree or undergraduate students shall be at least two and a half over four
•The general academic grade point average of postgraduate and  doctoral students shall be at least three over four.
•50% language score + 50% GPA
The students studying in their first year at associate or bachelor degree and the students of   preparation classes and scientific preparation programmes of graduate degrees can not participate in this programme at their first semester.
Students do not pay any tuition fees to the host institution during the program, but they continue to pay the obligatory tuition fees to their home institutions. They do not pay any extra fee to the host institution within the scope of the exchange program.
As the course(s) to be taken in the host institution are officially agreed to be counted in advance within the Learning Protocol, the students do not repeat any courses/semesters when they return.
The scholarship amount to be paid to the Mevlana Exchange students differs according to the life standards of the country of the host institution. Within the context of Mevlana Exchange Program, the program students can be paid up to three times of the amount that is monthly paid to bachelor degree students according to the Law no.5102 on Granting Scholarship and Loan to the Higher Education Students and in the ratios determined by Council of Higher Education Executive Board.
In terms of the scholarships that will be paid to the students, 70% of the scholarship amount is paid monthly. For the student’s remaining grant payment, the ratio of total credits of the succeeded courses to the courses that the student is obliged to take as obligatory courses will be considered. 
Students  pay all the following costs themselves:
a.transportation costs
b.Room and meals
c.Medical insurance and health care costs
d.Books,clothing and personal expenses
e.Passport and visa costs; 
A residence permit in Turkey

•Current Academic Transcript on the level of education approved by the university educated at.  by;
•Document confirming the English or Turkish language skills (certificate)
Academic staff can participate in the Mevlana exchange program. The “Mevlana Exchange Program” provides the academic staff with the opportunity of passing internship at the relevant universities of Turkey.

Detailed information about the program can be obtained from www.mevlana.yok.gov.tr and the Department of International Relations.
The required application forms  should be correctly filled in electronic version, as well as in paper form and should be submitted to the International Cooperation of SSU until 19 February 2016.
