On September 20, a meeting was held with students admitted to the SABAH groups of Sumgait State University (SSU).
At the meeting, the rector of the university, associate professor Rufat Azizov, congratulated the students accepted into the SABAH groups. He discussed the efforts made to improve the content and quality indicators of both undergraduate and graduate programs at SSU, a university rich in the knowledge and experience of the industrial city. He also highlighted the advantages of the SABAH groups and their positive impact on students' future careers.
The rector noted that SABAH groups began operating at Sumgait State University in the 2024-2025 academic year. Education in these groups will be organized based on a special curriculum, aimed at preparing graduates who can meet the demands of the labor market. He further mentioned that the teachers selected to instruct the SABAH groups have successfully passed the interview stage.
Additionally, the rector provided information on various educational programs, student exchange initiatives, and other opportunities aimed at supporting the personal development of students. He also noted that the "Student House," designed to accommodate 250 students, has all the necessary facilities.
At the conclusion of his speech, rector Rufat Azizov addressed students' questions, assured them of the university’s support, and encouraged them to participate in innovative and social projects.
Also speaking at the meeting were vice rector for International relations associate Professor Konul Abasli, vice-rector for Social affairs and public relations associate professor Elmar Khalilov, and the head of the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Differential Equations, Khayala Seyfullayeva. They congratulated the students of the first SABAH group and spoke about the extracurricular activities planned for them.
After the meeting, the university administration, along with the students from the SABAH groups, toured the facilities at the “Student house”.
