On September 10 Dr. Adam Jagiello-Rusilowski, an experienced social innovator on social change and innovation pedagogy in youth programs in the field of higher education, held a masterclass at Sumgayit State University on the topic of "Student led development of green skills across the curriculum".
Rector of the university Rufat Azizov greeted the guest and event participants and gave detailed information about the lecturer's expertise. The Rector also emphasized that the theme of the day is dedicated to a current topic of interest for the country and the world.
During the masterclass, Dr. Adam Jagiello-Rusilovski noted that within the framework of COP29 and the "Year of Solidarity for the Green World" in Azerbaijan, raising the level of environmental awareness of students and conducting research in relevant fields is of particular importance. He noted that higher education institutions and their faculty members and students should develop their skills and contribute to the application of positive environmental practices, including raising the level of ecoculture among the university community. In addition, Dr. Adam Jagiello-Rusilovski spoke about the importance of communication and cooperation for all new initiatives, changes and developments to be effective. The event also covered topics such as relevant ethical issues, "green jobs" in modern times, and evaluation of green skills.
After answering the questions of interest to the participants, various practice games were held by the trainer on the campus of the university, which are used to involve students in the development of green skills.
