Dr. Adam Jagiello-Rusilowski, social innovator and an executive with a demonstrated history of impact on youth programs for social change and innovation pedagogy in the higher education industry, will deliver a speech about “Student-led development of green skills across the curriculum” at Sumgayit State University.
Dr. Adam Jagiello-Rusilowski is an academic director at Innocamp Poland, where he runs EU-funded projects helping universities to become greener and more inclusive. He has over 25 years’ experience in higher education leadership and establishing changemakers’ campuses in Europe. An Ashoka fellow and advisory board member, he is also editor-in-chief for Ashoka U’s Social Innovations Journal. He advises universities in EU and Asia on their social impact through embedding UN sustainable development goals in their curriculum and engaging students in service learning with multi-stakeholder collaborations for sustainability. He was educated at Poland’s University of Gdansk, Columbia University in New York and INSEAD in France.
The aim of this event is to equip the participants with formal, non-formal/informal tools and strategies to support the students in experiential learning to become active players in green transitioning. The participants will share their expertise in creating opportunities for developing students’ ecological worldview and future skills like creative problem solving and communicating with organizational network chain. Additionally, best practices from top universities will be analyzed including changemakers’ campus strategies and assessment tools like e-portfolio.
