AN EMPLOYEE OF SSU VISITED THE KINGDOM OF SWEDEN WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE REFRESH PROJECT

 A practice trip to the Institute (KTH) took place within the framework of the project "Improving green and sustainable economy in Azerbaijan universities: renewable energy and climate change reduction - REFRESH" of the Erasmus+ program of the European Commission, which is a partner of Sumgait State University and coordinated by Azerbaijan State University of Economics (unec.edu.az), KTH Royal Institute of Technology Sweden.
Representatives of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), Sumgait State University (SSU), Azerbaijan Technology University (ATU), Ganja State University (GSU), Mingachevir State University (MSU) and Lankaran State University (LSU) took part in the visit.
A series of events and seminars devoted to various aspects of energy technology, environmental sustainability and higher education were held at KTH during the five-day practice visit. A discussion session on the importance of Azerbaijan"s chairmanship of the COP29 was also organized in this driection.
Within the framework of the visit, KTH representative Viktor Kordas held a seminar to provide a platform for initial networking and exchange of ideas, focusing on the institute"s initiatives in the field of energy, environment and climate change mitigation. In addition, the delegation was informed about the activities of the department of Energy Technologies of KTH, the organization of energy research, as well as the Energy Platform. The participants visited the laboratories dedicated to sustainable energy engineering and got acquainted with innovative technologies and sustainability practices.
During the visit, extensive cooperation activities in the field of energy and climate change between social partners and KTH were discussed. Discussions about digital tools and technologies in higher education, provided a comprehensive understanding of KTH"s approach to using technology for sustainable development with community participation.
Finally, the REFRESH project management meeting was held. The next stages of the project were discussed at the meeting.
It should be noted that Aysel Eminova, a senior specialist of the Project Management department from Sumgait State University, participated in the visit.
