Graduation Day" was held at Sumgait State University on June 28.
A number of city officials, representatives of the university's partner and cooperating institutions and professors participated in the event and shared the joy of the graduates.
At the event, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played, and the dear memory of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our country was commemorated with a minute's silence.
The rector of the university, associate professor Rufat Azizov, made a speech and greeted the guests and participants, congratulated the graduates on the occasion of the remarkable day, and wished them success in their future activities.
The rector Rufat Azizov noted that our graduates are more fortunate to have graduated in the most powerful period of the independent Azerbaijan state. He said that our young people are lucky because they have the opportunity to work in Eastern Zangezur and Karabakh, which have been freed from occupation for many years.
Then the rector advised the graduates about values such as honesty and justice, flexibility, tolerance, patriotism and innovation.
Teymur Samadov, the first deputy head of the Sumgait City Executive Authority, congratulated the graduates, conveyed the greetings of the Mr. Zakir Farajov, the activity of SSU. The foundation of these successes is the youth policy defined by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and carried out by President Ilham Aliyev today, as well as First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva's attention and concern for education.
The CEO of STP Group of Companies Hijran Valehov and the CEO of SOCAR "Azerikimya" Production Union Elnur Mammadli spoke and shared their success stories with the graduates, wished them luck in their future careers and talked about the great contributions of SSU to the education field of our republic.
Anar Gullerli, a graduate of the faculty of Natural Sciences, made a speech and said that he was proud to be a graduate of SSU, at the same time, he expressed his gratitude to the management and teaching staff of the university for the high attention and care shown to the students.
After the speeches, honorary degrees were presented to graduates distinguished by their academic performance, active participation in the social and sports life of the university, and then the traditional "cap thrown" ceremony was held.
After the official part, the event continued with an artistic and entertaining program. The university anthem was played by the students, and young artists of our republic congratulated the graduates with their performances.
