SSU EXPANDS ITS COOPERATION WITH INDUSTRIAL ENTERPRISES
On December 18, a meeting was held at Sumgayit State University with the participation of about 40 managers and human resources managers from 15 large industrial enterprises.
At the meeting, the directors of Azerikimya IB, SOCAR Carbamide, SOCAR Polymer enterprises included in SOCAR Downstream and structure, Sumgayit Technology Park (STP), BP company, plants and factories included in Azersun Holding, Azerishiq OJSC, Azerenergy OJSC, Gilan Tekstil, Nobel Energy, Kapital Bank, directors, executives and human resources managers of Azertechnoline and Technol companies participated.
Rector of SSU Rufat Azizov opened the meeting and gave information about possible directions of cooperation between the university and industrial enterprises. He noted the importance of joint activities between SSU and industrial enterprises in organizing internship programs for students, updating teaching content, scientific research projects, organizing short-term trainings for academic staff and students, holding practical conferences and student camps.
Emil Alkhasli, CEO of "SOCAR Downstream Management", Elnur Mammadli, CEO of SOCAR "Azerikimya" PU, Araz Mammadzade, Director of Education and Innovation Center of Azerishik OJSC, Ramal Guliyev, Nobel Energy's Chief Operating Director, Kutay, Director of SOCAR Urea Plant Shola Aliyeva, Chief Human Resources Administrator of Durna, STP LLC and member of the Board of Directors, Esmin Khalilov, director of Gilan Textile Company, Elvin Hajiyev, founder of Technol Company, directors of factories included in Azersun Holding and other participants spoke about the purpose and essence of university-industry cooperation.
They specifically emphasized the role of cooperation in organizing internship programs, workshops for practical skills, updating the laboratory and content, encouraging students to specialize, improving the practical skills of teachers and students, research and optimization projects, participation of experts from industrial enterprises in teaching, and organizing professional development courses for industry, and they represented with SSU they noted that the relations of enterprises will expand further.
At the meeting, preliminary directions for the preparation of the joint action plan of SSU and industrial enterprises for 2024 were discussed.
