On December 18, the leadership of the Nurafshan branch of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited Sumgait State University as part of a visit to Azerbaijan.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss bilateral cooperation, to sign a Memorandum on cooperation, as well as to study the advanced experience of SSU.

Rector of Sumgayit State University Rufat Azizov opened the meeting, greeted the guests and expressed his pleasure to see them at the university. The  cooperation between the universities of the two brotherly countries will be very productive and useful, Rufat Azizov expressed his confidence that the exchange of experience will contribute to the development of both universities. Giving full information about the university, the rector emphasized that SSU is a multi-profile university and the possibilities of joint cooperation with Tashkent University of Information Technologies.

​They highly appreciated the activity of SSU and spoke about the importance of cooperation.

At the meeting, associate professor Natig Talibov, SSU vice-rector for Teaching organization and training technology, associate professor Elmar Khalilov, vice-rector for Social affairs and public relations, assoc. prof. Ulduz Agayev, dean of the faculty of Engineering, and head of the department of International cooperation and foreign students Sadagat Fatullayeva, from Nurafshan branch of Tashkent University of Information Technologies, director Nasrullayev Nurbek Bakhtiyorovich, deputy director for General affairs Ochilov Ulugbek Shodimurodovich, director's adviser Fozilov Azamat Akhmadjonovich, deputy director for scientific affairs Makhmudov Salimjon Olimjonovich and head of the Scientific department Mambetova Indira Jaksymuratovna participated.

The meeting ended with the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the universities and the presentation of souvenirs.
