On December 14, a training on ‘Artificial intelligence - Opportunities and expectations’ was organized by the Department of Informatics of the Faculty of Mathematics at Sumgayit State University.

The event was opened by the dean of the faculty, associate professor Khalida Hasanova, who spoke about the importance of the training. She said that recently artificial intelligence technologies are rapidly entering people"s lives. New technologies affect the politics of countries around the world. Artificial intelligence technologies are widely used for both military and civilian purposes. It is gratifying that everyone understands the importance and advantages of artificial intelligence ideas in our country. Initiatives such as the ‘Scientists of Tomorrow’ competition organized by the Ministry of Science and Education, and STEAM, which is a project to impart digital knowledge and skills to students, provide great support for increasing the interest of young people in this field.

Aygun Taghiyeva, the head teacher of the Informatics Department, provided detailed information about the history of the theory of artificial intelligence and its scientific and theoretical foundations. She showed visual examples of artificial intelligence systems used in education and industry, and stated that intelligence has an important role.

Mehin Asgarova, a student of the faculty, made a presentation on ‘Artificial Intelligence’.

The training, which continued in the form of a discussion, ended with answering the questions of the participants.
