An introductory meeting was held at Sumgayit State University on the initiative of the representative office for Azerbaijan. Welcoming Rashad Huseynov, head of the company's representative office in Azerbaijan, rector professor Elkhan Huseynov gave information about the general activities of the university, education, teaching process, personnel training directions and available qualifications, and said that reforms have been carried out in the field  of increasing the quality of education, the efficiency of scientific activity and applying innovative methods in university management. Professor Elkhan Huseynov hopes that the relations between the representative office of "Uniper" company in Azerbaijan and SSU will develop positively, stated that Sumgait State University cooperates with several German universities and companies, and noted that Baku and Mainz, Sumgait and Ludwigshafen are brotherhood cities. Rashad Huseynli, the head of the representative office of "Uniper" company in Azerbaijan, gave information about the company's activities and drew attention to the fact that his company started cooperation with SOCAR in 2006, and in 2014, the official representative office was opened in Azerbaijan, and the "Cooperation Agreement" was signed between SOCAR and "Uniper" in Baku. In this context, he stated that numerous seminars, conferences, visits and exchange of experience programs were organized in Germany and Azerbaijan in many fields, and a summer camp was organized for the children of the company's employees. He also emphasized that SOCAR-Uniper LLC, established with the aim of implementing joint projects in the field of energy efficiency, is currently implementing the "Steam Generator Complex Modernization" project in Azerikimya PU. At the same time, he stated that Uniper is one of the main buyers of gas in the European market and noted that the company's longest gas purchase contract is related to gas purchased from the Shah Deniz-2 field in Azerbaijan (until 2045). Rashad Huseynli stated that Sumgayit State University has recently expanded its relations with leading local and international companies and turned it into a prestigious higher education institution. He emphasized that the company SOCAR-Uniper LLC he represents  were interested in expanding relations with SSU, organizing industrial experience for students studying relevant specialties, and providing them with employment in the future. Professor Elkhan Huseynov positively assessed the initiative of Uniper's representative office in Azerbaijan and noted that he was interested in continuing this cooperation. The rector assigned the coordination of the cooperation to Asad Mammadov, the vice-rector for General affairs of the university, once again analyzing the perspectives and points of mutual interest of this cooperation and considered it expedient to conduct it within the framework of the relevant memorandum of intent. Both parties expressed their satisfaction with the meeting and stated that the cooperation will continue successfully.
