On May 10-12, 2023, Italo Trevisan, professor of the faculty of Economics and management of the University of Trento, Italy, professor Diana Bagdanova, dean of the faculty of Robotics and Informatics of the Ufa University of Science and Technology of the Russian Federation and professor of  Ufa State Petroleum Technical University (USPTU) Muravyova Yelena Aleksandrovna, head of the department of Technological processes automation visited business trip to Sumgayit State University.

The purpose of the visit was to agree on the expansion of academic mobility between universities, conducting joint scientific-research works, holding international scientific conferences and possible cooperation opportunities in other areas.

The guests were welcomed by associate professor Gafar Atayev, vice-rector for International relations, associate professor Ulduz Agayev, dean of the faculty of Engineering, professor Javanshir Mammadov, head of the Automation and management department, Sadagat Fatullayeva, head of the department of International cooperation and foreign students, and mutual acquaintance and exchange of information about the universities was held.

Then the guests got acquainted with the university"s faculty, department and scientific-research laboratories, material and technical base, newly created High Technologies Valley and other areas,and  met with faculty deans and heads of departments.

On the 2nd day of the business trip, around the round table, the guests gave information about the scientific-research works conducted in the universities and discussed the possibilities of mutual cooperation.The guest were: Alakbarli Fazil, professor of the department of Automation and management of the faculty of Engineering, professor Agil Huseynov, doctor of technical sciences, head of the department of Information technologies and programming, professor Ali Nagiyev, doctor of technical sciences of the department of Automation and management, head of the department of Automation and management professor Javanshir Mammadov, head of the department of Management, associate professor Logman Abdullayev, head of the department of Finance and accounting of the faculty of Economics and management, associate professor Galib Huseynov, head of the department of Business organization and management, and other employees.They noted that in recent years, within the framework of the Association of Russian-Azerbaijani universities, regular business meetings have been held between SSU and USPTU in various fields. Also, discussions were held in the direction of expanding cooperation with USTU and ITU universities, and a cooperation agreement was prepared and a proposal was put forward to the rectors of the universities.

During the visit, the rector of SSU, professor Elkhan Huseynov received the guests. He brought to the guests" attention , the achievements of SSU in recent years, and ephasized the upcoming strategic goals, and the university"s interest in developing relations in the field of international cooperation in the future.

Later, the guests thanked the rector, professor Elkhan Huseynov for the warm welcoming and shared their sincere impressions about SSU. They noted that the holding of such meetings further strengthens friendship and fraternal relations between the states and contributes to the development of student-teacher exchange between universities.

In the end, the rector presented the souvenirs of SSU to the guests and took a commemorative photo.
