On March 14, a scientific seminar of the Student Scientific Society was held at the department of History of peoples of Azerbaijan and Eastern Europe of the faculty of History and geography.

Rector professor Elkhan Huseynov made a speech and talked about the development of the higher educational institution he leads, the activities of Sumgayit State University in the direction of increasing the interest of young people in science and developing research skills. He positively assessed the work done by SSS in this regard and wished them success. He expressed his satisfaction with the active participation of students in scientific events, highly valued the students' enthusiasm for scientific research and emphasized that the management will provide all kinds of support to talented students. Calling the youth to be more active, rector professor Elkhan Huseynov talked about the special attention and care given to the youth by the President Ilham Aliyev.

 Professor Adil Bakhshaliyev, dean of the faculty of History and geography greeted the participants and spoke about the importance of the seminar. He spoke about the faculty's scientific work and achievements. He noted that in recent years, Sumgait State University has become an education-research-innovation center and contributes to the development of students as qualified personnel. Here, along with the quality of teaching, necessary conditions have been created for the development of students as a comprehensive staff.

Professor Shirkhan Salimov-head of the department of History of peoples of Azerbaijan and Eastern Europe made a speech and praised the role of the events organized by the Student Scientific Society, he noted that the success of our students in various events inside and outside the university is increasing day by day.

At the seminar, students made a report, interesting discussions were held around the reports.
