On March 9, an event on "Self-confidence and self-evaluation" was held under the joint organization of the department of Finance and accounting of the faculty of Economics and management of Sumgait State University, as well as the Psychological service center.

Faculty professors and students took part in the event.

Associate professor Aynura Yahyayeva-dean of the faculty of Economics and management  opened the event, greeted the participants and talked about the importance of the event. She said that it is gratifying that the youth of Azerbaijan are distinguished by their social activity. Our young people actively participate in social, economic and humanitarian events, benefit from the wide opportunities created by the state for young people. Such trainings play an important  role in forming a sense of self-confidence in young people and raising them as strong personalities with a rich outlook. The dean also noted that the students of SSU are always distinguished by their activity in the events and raise the reputation of our university with honor.

The event continued with the moderation of Cicek Najafova, assistant of the department of Finance and accounting of the university. Cicek Najafova stated that the purpose of the event is to learn ways to build self-confidence in students and to discuss how important self-confidence is.

Associate professors of the department of Pedagogy and psychology made a report in the differents topics: Ayna Hajiyeva "Psychological problems of lack of self-esteem in students and young people", Jeyhun Mammadov "Possibilities of increasing the student's self-realization in the educational process" and Sevinj Karimova "The role of parents in the development of self-confidence in students". They noted that the feeling of self-confidence is a person's love, belief that he is worthy of all beauty, self-respect, self-satisfaction. Speakers also emphasized that the feeling of self-confidence is not a process that arises later, and this feeling is born and formed together with a person. The environment and society in which he lives plays an important role in the formation of a person's sense of self-confidence.

Narmin Hasanova-head of the Quality Assurance department of SSU and associate professor Aytekin Mammadova head of the department of Pedagogy and psychology spoke about the relevance of the topic. They shared their thoughts psychologically about this issue that worries the youth and had a broad, meaningful conversation about  successful and unsuccessful results of the relations between young people.

After the speeches, opinions were exchanged on the topic, numerous questions of the students were answered.

At the end, a video about the topic was shown and a psychological test was conducted among the students.
