Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and Sumgayit State University (SSU) jointly organized the republican scientific and technical conference "Energy efficiency and green energy technologies" dedicated to the training of engineering personnel in the field of energy.

Representatives from higher education institutions operating in our country participated in the conference.

At the opening ceremony of the conference Nurali Yusifbeyli vice-rector for Academic affairs of AzTU, as well as Subhan Namazov  vice-rector for Science and innovation spoke about the importance and  the issue of increasing energy efficiency in both production and consumption  in modern times. Energy efficiency problems are becoming a central research object in the modern theory and practice of industrial enterprise management, along with increasing environmental safety of production and strengthening social responsibility. In this sense, the conference organized by AzTU and SSU is one of the important tools for the training of engineering personnel in this field and the practical application of the achievements of scientific and technical progress in the energy sector.

At the plenary session of the conference, the head of the department of Electrical engineering and Power engineering of SSU  associate professor Nadir Hajibalayev and the head of the department of Electromechanics, associate professor Turgay Huseynov spoke about the importance of the conference. They said that increasing energy efficiency will enable efficient use of energy resources, reduce negative effects on the environment, expand the application of green technologies, and increase the innovative potential of industrial development. They noted that specialists are currently being trained for the energy sector at various levels of education in the country. In this direction, state programs approved by the head of the country are being successfully implemented, and a new generation of specialists is being trained. Also, within the framework of the creation of the "Green Energy Zone" in our country, electricity generation from renewable energy sources, energy efficiency measures, use of electric vehicles, construction of renewable energy devices (especially solar panels) on the roofs of buildings, as well as solar lighting of streets and roads in the territories freed from occupation  are successfully implemented  as well as the use of energy-based LED lamps, the use of renewable energy technologies in heating, cooling and hot water supply, and the application of smart energy management technologies .

It should be noted that the conference which continues with section meetings will end its work on December 16.
