On November 9, a group of teachers and students of the faculty of Economics and management of Sumgayit State University visited the grave of the martyred graduate of that faculty Rashad Mikayilzade in II Alley of Honor, and laid a wreath on his grave.

The dean of the faculty, associate professor Aynura Yahyayeva, as well as the head of the department of Business organization and management, associate professor Galib Huseynov spoke about the bravery and heroism of the martyr Rashad Mikayilzade in the Patriotic war, his war path, noting that he was a patriot and an exemplary student, and thanked the martyr"s parents for growing such a brave and courageous son. They also emphasized that the "Great Victory" won by the brave Azerbaijani army under the leadership of Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev was written in golden letters in our glorious history. Students of Sumgayit State University also demonstrated high patriotism during the brilliant victory won in the 44-day long Patriotic war.

We should note that Rashad Mikayilzadeh Ilham oglu originally from Camashayir village of Lerik district was born on September 30, 1995 in Yasamal district of Baku city. In 2013, he was admitted to the  speciality   Finance and accounting of SSU. In 2015, he was awarded the Certificate of Appreciation for his participation as a volunteer at the European Games. In 2019, Rashad Mikayilzade was called up for active military service by the Military Commissariat of Yasamal region and was sent to military unit No. "N" located in Gazakh region. In 2020, he was awarded the Order of Honor for his exemplary service. Rashad participated in the fierce battles for the territorial integrity of our homeland from the first days of the Second Karabakh war, which began on September 27, 2020, and was martyred on November 9, 2020.

Rashad Mikayilzade was posthumously awarded the medals “Vətən uğrunda” ("For the Fatherland"),“Döyüşdə fərqlənməyə görə” ("For distinction in battle") and “Xocavəndin azad olunmasına görə" ("For the liberation of Khojavend") by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
