From starting November,  a series of events dedicated to November 8-Victory Day are held in the faculties of Sumgayit State University in order to ensure the implementation of the Order No. 2314 dated 03.12.2020 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On the establishment of Victory Day in Azerbaijan", as well as action plan approved by the order No. F-429 of the Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated September 07, 2021.

At the events held in the faculties of Mathematics, Physics and Electroenergetics, Chemistry and biology, the deans of the faculties spoke about the great historical and political significance of the Victory won in the Patriotic war under the leadership of President Mr. Ilham Aliyev. They informed that as a result of military operations that lasted only 44 days under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, our Brave Army freed our lands that had been under Armenian slavery for 28 years. After this Great Victory, November 8 is solemnly celebrated as "Victory Day" every year in the Republic of Azerbaijan in order to perpetuate this victory, by the Decree of President Mr. Ilham Aliyev dated December 3, 2020.

The speakers stated noted that the liberation of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur, which is the ancient historical land of Azerbaijan brought great joy to our people, proving the power, political, economic, military and humanitarian power of our Motherland to the whole world.

At the events held in the faculties, students performed patriotic poems, and a video depicting the Victory path was shown.

It should be noted that the "Day of Victory" poetry competition was held at the faculty of Chemistry and biology. Students   standing out in the competition performed their poems at the event.
