On September 5, a meeting was held at Sumgayit State University with the delegation of "INNOLAND" Incubation and Acceleration Center of the State Agency for Service to Citizens and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Rector professor Elkhan Huseynov, director of INNOLAND Incubation and Acceleration Center Mammad Karim, Tengiz Agakishiyev director of the department for work with startups, and Rashad Eyvazov director of SUP VC participated in the meeting.

Rector professor Elkhan Huseynov welcomed the guests and expressed his satisfaction to see them at the university, talked about the importance of the meeting and informed about innovative projects in the fields of teaching and learning technologies, electronic management, science and scientific innovation carried out at Sumgayit State University. He said that innovation projects at the university are implemented on the basis of a complex system approach. Emphasizing the importance of creating Innovation and Creativity Centers in the university in this direction, the rector also drew attention to the fact that the Strategic Development Plan for 2020‒2025, approved by the Scientific Council of SSU based on the relevant provisions of the State Program, envisages the creation of an "Innovation and Creativity Center" at the university and the implementation of relevant works started. Meetings held in Sumgayit State University  on the creation and efficient operation of the "Innovation and Creativity Center" were continued in many institutions, and successful results were achieved.

Mammad Karim  director of INNOLAND Incubation and Acceleration Center expressed his gratitude to the university management for the warm welcome, gave extensive information about the opportunities provided by the Center for investment attraction, growth and development of local startups at the global level. He said that the administrative building of the Electronic Government Development Center subordinated to the State Agency for Service to Citizens and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan was inaugurated in Baku. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended  in the opening. Mammad Karim also noted that "INNOLAND" is an incubation, acceleration and research center created for the development of the private sector, promotion of innovation and expansion of the start-up movement in Azerbaijan and at the same time beyond its borders. He informed about the establishment of the Center "Azerbaijani evi"  in the USA, branches of "INNOLAND" in Tbilisi and in the cities of Ganja, Sumgait, Shamakhi, Sheki throughout the country.

Later, the vice-rector for Science and Innovations professor Ramazan Mammadov, the head of the Scientific department associate professor Samir Orujov, the head of the department of Process automation professor Javanshir Mammadov made speeches and noted  the importance of starting the activity of the creative center at SSU and stated that in connection with this, a group of employees of the university visited Turkey and they got acquainted with the centers operating there.

Some proposals were voiced in the meeting, such as: cooperation with "INNOLAND" for the purpose of promoting innovation and expanding the startup movement at SSU, close participation of "INNOLAND" Incubation and Acceleration Center  in the events held at SSU related to science and creativity, based on the support and experience of "INNOLAND" the  construction of "Innovation and Creativity Center" in the area of SSU.

It was considered expedient to hold seminars on this subject by specialists of "INNOLAND"  for the professor-teacher and student staff of SSU.

After the meeting, the delegation got to know the area of the university.
