A cooperation agreement was signed between SSU and Hexi University of China
On July 13, an online cooperation agreement was signed between Sumgayit State University and Hexi University of the People"s Republic of China.
The online meeting which was moderated by Zhang Yun, vice-chancellor of Hexi University started with a speech by the university"s rector Zhang Hani. The rector gave detailed information about the history, academic opportunities, and international relations of Hexi University and talked about the role of international relations in the development of universities, projects and programs implemented together with various educational and scientific centers of the world. He spoke about the friendship and bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and China and expressed his satisfaction with the implementation of mutual exchanges.
Later the rector of Sumgayit State University professor Elkhan Huseynov welcomed the participants and talked about the activity and international relations of SSU. He said that SSU is expanding its international relations day by day, important successful steps are being taken in the direction of teacher-student mobility. Taking into account the importance of deepening the integration of science and education and expanding cooperation in this field which is the demand of the time, SSU cooperates closely with many leading higher education institutions of the world for the purpose of training highly qualified personnel.
The rector pointed out that the meeting held and the signed agreement are of great importance and emphasized that it will promote cooperation between both higher education institutions. At the same time, bringing to the attention of the participants that the diplomatic relations between China and Azerbaijan have a history of 30 years the rector Elkhan Huseynov congratulated them on the occasion of this anniversary .
Associate professor Gafar Atayev vice-rector for International relations of SSU expressed that the signed agreement is a successful step in the internationalization of both universities and wished success in cooperation.
The rector of Sumgayit State University Elkhan Huseynov and the rector of Hexi University Zhang Hani signed the cooperation agreement, which provides opportunities for cooperation and academic mobility between the two universities based on the principle of mutual benefit, and commemorative photos were taken.
The creation of the "Confucius Institute" (school) at SSU was also discussed within the framework of the cooperation agreement.
